DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities Remembers Reggie “Polo” Burwell

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) remembers local musician Reggie “Polo” Burwell, who passed away Tuesday, November 26. Burwell was the lead vocalist for the go-go group TCB.

“Burwell and TCB brought go-go to a new generation of listeners,” said Lionell Thomas, Executive Director of DCCAH. “The Commission extends our sympathies to Burwell’s family and all of his fans. Go-go is a musical style distinct to Washington, and we celebrate his contributions as one of its leading artists.”

Help for Stressful Economic Times

Depression and anxiety are normal reactions to abnormal times or stress. With increased concerns about losing jobs, homes and savings, more people are showing signs of psychological distress. It’s important for us all to learn to recognize the symptoms of depression so we can get help for ourselves or for others when it’s needed.
