Nutrition 101: A Taste of Food and Fitness

School Food Authorities & Vendors are invited to attend the Nutrition 101: A Taste of Food and Fitness hosted by The National Food Service Management Institute of Oxford, Mississippi on April 30, 2014 from 9:00am to 5:00 p.m.

The 8-hour Nutrition 101 training provides a basic overview of nutrition with an emphasis on the importance of balance in daily food choices and the inclusion of physical activity as a key component to good health. A variety of learning activities including short physical activity boosters are incorporated into the training.

Providers

DBH contracts with community based providers to provide mental health services and supports. You can contact a provider of your choice directly or call the Access Helpline for assistance. DBH certifies each provider to ensure conformity to federal and District regulations and monitors quality of care.

Help for Stressful Economic Times

Depression and anxiety are normal reactions to abnormal times or stress. With increased concerns about losing jobs, homes and savings, more people are showing signs of psychological distress. It’s important for us all to learn to recognize the symptoms of depression so we can get help for ourselves or for others when it’s needed.
