October 21, 2013 – The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region announced that applications are now being accepted for the City Fund, which is slated to invest $15 million in new dollars to make the District of Columbia a more healthy, stable, and vibrant place to live for all its residents. The fund, originally proposed by District Mayor Vincent C. Help for Stressful Economic Times

Depression and anxiety are normal reactions to abnormal times or stress. With increased concerns about losing jobs, homes and savings, more people are showing signs of psychological distress. It’s important for us all to learn to recognize the symptoms of depression so we can get help for ourselves or for others when it’s needed.
