Adults who need behavioral health services and supports can choose from a number of community based private providers located in neighborhoods throughout the District.

It is estimated that as many as one in five children and adolescents may have a mental health disorder that can be identified and require treatment.

The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program is a twenty-four hour/seven day a week operation that provides emergency psychiatric services, mobile crisis services and extended observation beds for individuals 18 years of age and older.

Our goal is to ensure that quality behavioral health care is available and easily accessible to District residents when they need it and through all stages of life.
